Chris Evans Offered Role as Captain America
(HMG) – After much speculation, trotting out many young male leads out for screen tests, the new Captain America has been chosen. No stranger to comic book movies, it’s being reported that actor Chris Evans has been offered the lead role in “The First Avenger: Captain America.” The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Evans who played The Human Torch in Fantasic Four has been offered the part, but didn’t say that he has signed on yet. He’ll be committed to a number of future Marvel films including “Captain America” sequels, “The Avengers” and appearing in other Marvel Universe pictures. Evans will reportedly battle The Matrix and The Wolfman villain Hugo Weaving as The Red Skull in the first Captain America movie. Other candidates rumored to have been in the final selection process for Captain America included Channing Tatum, Ryan Phillippe, John Krasinski and Mike Vogel. The question now is, do you picture Evans as the right choice not only to play Captain America but to be the leader of The Avengers?

This is a truly sad day no disrespect to Chris Evans but I REALLY WANTED TO SEE CHANNING TATUM AS CAPTAIN AMERICA WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CASTERS OF THIS MOVIE don’t get me wrong I don’t hate Chris or any thing like that He was Fantastic as Johnny Storm and He is an Ok actor and of course He is a hottie and all BUT COME ON MR TATUM IS NUCLEAR HOT AND A MUCH BETTER CHOICE I MEAN COME ON Dear John kicked ass (by the name of avatar) so this film could have broken records WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE BLIND? I AM SOOOO PISSED WHAT A BIG NO WHAT A GALACTIC (and if there is anything bigger)MISTAKE
Hmmmmm thank god it wasn’t the walking plank Tatum. The comments from the chickee can only prove this.
Man, seriously? You wanted Channing Tatum to take a role as important as Captain America? He’s not a HORRIBLE actor, but he’s no where near equipped enough to handle Captain America. That would have been a disaster. Steve Rogers is an incredibly confident leader with 1950′s morals and personality quirks. Tatum is more of the unrefined good guy from the other side of the train tracks. Unfortunately, that’s the only character I’ve ever seen him play in the four totally different movies I’ve seen him in. Additionally, he looks nothing like Steve Rogers.
On the other hand, I’m really hopping that Evans will surprise us with acting ability we didn’t know he had. I do know this though, Evans is a much better choice than Tatum.
