Jersey Shore’s Snooki charged over drunken teen death
[HMG] – Most celebrities have things in their past they’d rather forget, and Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has a gem! In 2004 she was charged in the drink-driving death of one of her classmates.
Several of Polizzi’s friends from Marlboro High School attended a party at her mother’s home over Thanksgiving that year. Among them was 16-year old Michael Truncali. The party lasted for hours and Truncali is believed to have consumed several drinks in that time.
Shortly after leaving the home in the early hours of Thanksgiving morning the High School senior rolled his Mazda and died at the scene. Police later confirmed Truncali’s blood alcohol level was “. 18″ — twice the legal limit for that state.
An investigation began, and after exhaustive inquiries Pollizi was charged with ‘Prohibited Sale of Alcoholic Beverages,’ as she not only supplied alcohol to minors, she made them pay for it too. At her own party, in her own home.
Snooki’s mother, Helen Polizzi was also there party, but while she questioned by police no charges were filed.
As you’d imagine, Truncali’s parents are incensed by their loss and still don’t believe Snooki told the whole truth;
“She doesn’t care about what happened to our son,” Michelle Truncali tells Radar. “We’re not out to trash Nicole. I am not looking for those people to get arrested, I just want the truth.”
“I don’t feel like the whole story’s come out; that remains our big issue,” adds husband, Bill. “I want to get to the truth.”
And they have a good case – Joseph Lotharo of the Marlboro PD says several adults at the party were drinking with the minors. Two men were charged with supplying the booze, but more arrests could have been made.
Meanwhile in a quiet street in New Jersey stands a silent memorial to the Truncali’s loss; The twisted and partly-charred bumper of their 16-year old’s car…
