Davy Crockett actor Fess Parker has died

Fess Parker - Davey Crockett(HMG) – Actor Fess Parker, (August 16, 1924 — March 18, 2010) best known for his 1950s portrayals of Davy Crockett for Walt Disney and of Daniel Boone in the late 1960s, has gone to that great wild frontier in the sky. He died today at his home in the Santa Ynez Valley, CA., according to his managers, at the age of 85. After Parker retired from acting he devoted much of his time to operating his Fess Parker Family Winery and Vineyards[6] in Los Olivos, California. A statement issued by his family said, Parker is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marcella, their son and daughter, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild who “spent a great deal of time with Fess in his final months and weeks,” the statement said.
