A Conan O’Brien Movie in the Works?
[HMG] – As you likely know Conan O’Brien recently announced a 30-date nationwide tour, beginning on April 12, featuring both Conan and late-night foil Andy Richter. “The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour” will open in Eugene, Oregon and go on to brighten thirty different cities in both the US and Canada. O’Brien got the live show started as a way to help his staff of about 40 keep busy and employed. And since Coco is for now barred from television since getting shoved out of his TV dream job as Tonight Show host, how about doing a movie? “Talks are under way” for a documentary of O’Brien’s comedy tour in the wake of his getting the boot from NBC, Deadline New York reports. Media Rights Capital has been in talks to finance the movie, with Rodman Flender to direct. The move wouldn’t violate O’Brien’s agreement with his former bosses.  I think a concert type movie featuring Conan and the various guest comedians and musicians that appear is a pretty good idea. What do you think?
