“The Wonder Years,” Actress Danica McKellar (Winnie) is Pregnant

(HMG) – Danica McKellar who famously played Fred Savage’s sweetheart Winnie Cooper on the hit 1980s TV show, is pregnant.  She married longtime boyfriend film and TV composer Mike Verta, almost exactly a year ago and now they are joyfully expecting.  Danica broke the news to People Magazine, saying:

“I’m nearing the end of my first trimester and I’m so excited — I’ve been bursting to tell people. Me and Mike looked at each other and we could not stop the tears,” she says. “We are so happy.”

Danica isn’t just a pretty face, she is  the author of two New York Times bestsellers, Math Doesn’t Suck, and Kiss My Math, which encourage and empower middle-school girls with mathematics know-how.  Her third book, Hot X: Algebra Exposed, comes out in August.  And her little bundle of joy will come sometime in the fall.
