Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes announce the end of their marriage

(HMG) – Wow it looks like Kate Winslet is about to be single again. Winslet and her director husband Sam Mendes are calling it quits after nearly seven-year of marriage.

“Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year,” their lawyers say in a statement. “The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement.”

They have a son Joe, 6. Winslet was previously wed to Director Jim Threapleton, with whom she has a daughter, Mia, 9. Mendes, an acclaimed stage and film director, won the coveted best director Oscar for “American Beauty.”

Ironically he directed his wife in “Revolutionary Road,” a recent film about a crumbling marriage that reunited Winslet with her “Titanic” co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
