French President, Nicolas Sarkozy and wife cheating on each other?
[HMG] – In news that could give Tiger Woods a welcome break from the gossips it’s being suggested that the first-couple of France, Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni are both indulging in discreet affairs.
The 55-year old President married the Italian-born former singer at a dinner party in November of 2007. They married three months later in a lavish ceremony at Sarkozy’s official residence, the Élysée Palace. But reports emerged yesterday that suggest both are now deep in affairs.
“The presidential marriage is breathing its last,” the News quotes the popular French newspaper ‘Journal Du Dimanche.’ as confirming. “Carla Bruni is in love with Benjamin Biolay, and the President has found solace with Chantal Jouanno.”
Chantal Jouanno is a conservative member of Sarkozy’s own cabinet, while Benjamin Biolay is a popular French singer and actor. Ben’s five years younger than Carla, while Ms. Juanno is fifteen years younger than Carla’s [current] husband.
Press reports also say 42-year old Ms. Bruni — who is known to have been close to Ben for several years – is now “unofficially living with him at his apartment in Paris.”
Reps for the President are refusing to comment, but this is not the first time such rumors have swirled. Unofficial intelligence suggests their union is just a public performance and the pair could divorce as soon as Nicolas’ Presidency expires in two years.
Ms. Bruni’s past friends have included Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton and even Donald Trump. In a February 2007 interview she even admitted she got “terribly bored” with monogamy, and when she met and married Nicolas in only three months this unwise admission caused her to be denounced as a gold-digger by the French press.
The couple won’t announce this officially, of course, but we’ll keep you advised if it gets any worse…
