Liam Hemsworth officially with Miley Cyrus and might be lead for ‘Arabian Knights’

[HMG] – Although they weren’t together at the event, Miley Cyrus used Sunday’s Oscars to finally end a six-month long tease — She and her ‘Last Song’ co-star Liam Hemsworth are dating.

The 17-year old singer and actress was cornered on the red carpet by Ryan Seacrest, who asked if the two were really an item. At this point Miley finally stopped exploiting her fans with this pubescent game and said ‘Yes.’

Of course, the timing of her belated confession has nothing whatever to do with the fact that the movie will bow in two weeks.

But when asked if she was truly in love with 19-year old Liam, all she told Ryan was ‘Maybe.’

So she’s either dating a man for whom she has no affection, or she’s so fond of insulting and teasing her fans she truly believes it’s the acceptable option.

As for the focus of this adolescent indulgence, Mr Hemsworth is now due to follow his brother, Chris, into action-film territory — He’s in talks to play the lead in an upcoming 3D action-adventure called ‘Arabian Knights.’

Co-written and due to be directed by Chuck Russel [the man you can blame for that 1994 Jim Carrey fiasco, 'The Mask' ] the movie is set in biblical times and concerns a young soldier (Liam) whose King is brutally murdered by a neighboring tribe.

He then teams up with no less than Sinbad and Aladdin to rescue their Queen — Scheherazade — from the enemy.

Shooting is due to begin at the end of the Summer, but THR says no release date has been decided as yet.

If he takes it, this role would put Liam in direct competition with his own brother, Chris, who is now in production as the Marvel superhero, “Thor.”

Directed by no less than Kenneth Branagh, that movie will open on May 6 of next year…
