[HMG] – What do you get when you cross Lily Allen, Courtney Love and that micro-blog phenom known as Twitter? Answer: The most witheringly concise cat-fight in recent PR.

First, a brief recap — When the two divas collided earlier this month at London’s Brit Awards [they're like the Grammys with accents.] Courtney took every chance she could find – or invent – to whine to the press that while her [free] ‘Miu Miu’ gown was all very nice, what she really wanted was some free Chanel.

But, Love mewled, naughty little Lily had put a ‘lock’ on those frocks, so she was forced to go slumming.

The only people more steamed by this tasteless review than the folks up at Miu Miu were Miss Allen and her reps. So when the two met again at the NME Awards on Wednesday, Lilly gave Courtney a piece of her mind [must be on loan?]…then ignored her — all night.

Today, however, Lily denies such an act; “Courtney Love and I did -not- have a bust up at the NME’s,” she tweeted.

Later chirps added, “She’s upset because she got it into her head I put a lock on some dresses for the Brits. When I saw her at the NME’s I told her to shut up and stop spreading stupid rumors. That’s pretty much it.”

…But then it was time to slide home the knife;

“I would never fight with her – As a rule I don’t pick on crazy old ladies.”

A feathery fan later asked if rumors of her putting a ‘hold’ on clothes were ever true; “No,” began Lily’s reply. “But it’s the sort of thing a paranoid, drug-addled lunatic might come up with. “

Courtney’s response, meanwhile, sounds more like apology;

“I was told by my PR you had a lock on Chanel. This could’ve been nonsense; It’s a compliment if true,” Love tweeted. “I think I know the reality – If you did not have a lock, which is more probable, I was told nonsense…So, end.”

And today, in the process of returning home to the States, Courtney had a last farewell message for her beloved Brits;

“I’m going to miss you all you Brits – with a few ‘mean girl’ exceptions,” Love tweeted this morning. “I’m taller than most girls, so when some smaller girl picks on me it looks like I’m a bully. I’m really not always -.Swear.”

And that’s probably a pinky-swear. So those who share the real-world perceptions of a child of six had better believe her – or she might hold her breath!…
