Susan Boyle’s family worries about her

Susan Boyle[HMG] – There is a new feature story in People Magazine that hints that Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle might not really be cut out for fame. Obviously Susan’s talent is profound but her rise from a very quiet life, she lived with her mother until she died in 2007, to fame might be too much for her. All the drama of originally being thrust into stardom lead to Boyle being hospitalized after her stunning loss on Britain’s Got Talent. Since then there have been a couple of other incidents that point to her fragile state. Reports out of the UK have had Boyle nervous, lonely and worried since an intruder broke in to her home in recent weeks. And there was another bizarre incident last month when Boyle caused a commotion at London’s Heathrow airport while waiting to fly out to be a guest star on Oprah.

Two of her brothers were quoted by the magazine as saying:

“The traveling and the whole [fame] thing is exhausting. She still has her anxieties and her loneliness,” her brother Gerry tells PEOPLE in the latest cover story.

Her other brother, John, is even more blunt: “She needs 24-hour care. She needs to be looked after.”

Hopefully her management  team is listening! While it’s standard fare to try to exploit fame to it’s fullest these days, I think there is no reason that Susan can’t strike a balance between her quiet life in Scotland and a recording career.
