Charlie Sheen’s wife, Brooke Mueller hid addictions for months

[HMG] – With both Charlie Sheen and his wife now in rehab — again – the story of their unchecked descent to this point is starting to be better known;

Both Charlie and Brooke had resisted suggestions they needed rehab for months [Brooke has done it at least five times, and this current visit is Charlie's third.] Like most addicts they conceal the problem and deny it exists, and their marriage is falling apart.

“They’re both addicts and they don’t have a happy marriage,” says a source close to the pair. “It was just a disaster and they tried to cover it up as long as they could, but ultimately the situation exploded.”

Brooke’s long-standing addiction to both alcohol and crack has often seen long spells of sobriety. But, like most addicts she suffers repeated relapses.

“Brooke has been out of control for months,” the source told Radar. “She even smoked crack the night before she had Charlie arrested in December. She’s been trying to hide it, but it was a matter of time. And the fact  she’s married to Charlie and he also has a problem just made things worse.”

Brooke’s mother knew something had gone wrong again, and urged Brooke to get into rehab. But the couple even did drugs together the day before she checked in!

The clinics at which they are now seeking help are among the best of their kind. But while their addictions might get repaired, friends have little hope for their marriage;

“The marriage is terrible,” one friend confirms. “Brooke has relapsed over and over again. This is Charlie’s third rehab. They bring out the worst in each other.”

The only thing more dangerous to an addict than a congenial dealer is an enabling partner. Brooke and Charlie have both. Let’s hope they can work this out before one of them needs paramedics…
