Brad Pitt reunites Angelina Jolie and her dad

Brad Pitt, daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt and Angelina Jolie[HMG] – When Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and her dad, Jon Voight were snapped together in Venice last week it was the first time in nine years the trio got to be in a family portrait. And it’s all thanks to Brad and his skills at diplomacy.

Angie and her dad broke off all contact in 2001 when she publicly accused him of cheating on her beloved, late mother, Marcheline Bertrand. In return, Voight publicly doubted Angelina’s mental state — a move clearly intended to sink the adoption of her first child, Maddox, in which Angie was engaged at the time.

Jon sent peace offerings such as an expensive gold necklace, but Angie returned them and all contact was lost. Even her brother, Haven, cut Jon out of his life.

Now his wife was dead and his children despised him – He was alone in the world, and it hurt.

Enter Brad. An insider says the 46-year old actor “thought Jon deserved a second chance, so he stepped in.” First came emails, then phone calls, then maybe a meeting. Finally, Angie invited her dad to Venice last week, and the man has since been in heaven;

“It was wonderful to spend time with Angelina, Brad and the children,” Jon, 71, since told Radar. “I’ve been waiting so long to hug my grandchildren and they are the most beautiful, loving kids you could imagine and I’m not just saying that because I’m their grandfather, they really are something special.”

You can tell he’s an actor, huh? Jon was then asked what he thought of Brad and his daughter as parents?

“Angelina and Brad are the most amazing, loving parents I’ve ever seen,” he gushed. “It truly moved me to see Angie as a mom, I’m so proud of her – She has so much love to share with the children and Brad.”

So with their link reestablished the obvious question is, can this last? Jon seems to think so;

“I hope I get to see them again soon,” says the actor  “I want to spend as much time with them as possible.”

Sounds like a plan. What they should do is make a movie together. Picture it — Catch 22, Oceans 11 and Lara Croft on one screen. Who’d go see that?…
