Bristol Palin to guest on ‘Secret Life of the American Teenager’

[HMG] – In what may the first salvo to influence voters for the mid-term elections it’s being reported that Bristol Palin, daughter of former Vice Presidential contender, Sarah Palin is shooting a guest spot on ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager.’

The 19-year old single mom will appear as herself in an episode in which she’ll be seen attending a music program for teen moms, and befriending cast regular, Shailene Woodley who plays Amy.

“I am thrilled to be on this show and to be a part of a program that educates teens about the consequences of teen pregnancy,” Palin has since said in a statement.

For those who don’t follow the show, “The Secret Life…” is a thinly-disguised morals play which explores a wide range of teenage issues, but focuses mostly on the risks of teen pregnancy.

“Bristol Palin is the most famous teenage mother in America,” Brenda Hampton, the show’s Exec Producer, gushed at the News. “I think she’ll bring extra attention to the problems teen parents face, which we’ve explored for a couple of seasons.”

And if she doesn’t, you can bet your last dime Mommy will be on hand to make sure that gets done.

There’s no exact air date for Bristol’s debut as yet but her cameo will be shot in Los Angeles this summer then air as part of season three, which opens on June 22nd…
