Matt Damon and Ben Affleck to team again as film producers?
(HMG) – Longtime friends, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon who won an Oscar for their original screenplay for Good Will Hunting, which launched their careers in 1997 – are negotiating a deal to produce movies for the Hollywood film studio Warner Brothers, according to a new report. The Hollywood Reporter says the deal will give the WB a first-look deal at the duo’s new production company. Damon has worked extensively with Warner Brothers over the last decade, including starring roles in Invictus, The Informant!, The Departed and the Ocean’s trilogy. While Affleck co-wrote, directed and stars in his latest film, The Town, for the studio. Affleck and Damon were previously behind production company LivePlanet, under the umbrella of Disney until the deal ended in 2007. LivePlanet, which was responsible for Affleck’s writing-directing debut Gone Baby Gone, and other films like Stolen Summer, The Battle Of Shaker Heights and Feast.
Affleck 37, and Damon 39, haven’t as yet named their new new production company. Damon will next be starring in next month’s action/drama film, Green Zone, and Affleck will be co-starring in The Company Men, which debuted at Sundance last month.
