Robert De Niro and Jeff Bridges get AARP awards
(HMG) – Robert De Niro and Jeff Bridges were given awards at AARP The Magazine’s Movies for Grownups Awards for 2010. De Niro, 66, cheerfully cuddled up with Bridges, 60, at the Beverly Wilshire, photo right. Bridges was named best actor over 50, presented by his “Crazy Heart” costar Maggie Gyllenhaal, while De Niro got the lifetime achievement award. De Niro joked:
“What are they going to give me 40 years from now — the He Lived Too Long Award?” Adding that critics of his latest film had suggested it was time to retire, he said, “I’m still a kid. See you at the Kids Choice Awards.”
Sean Penn was selected to present De Niro with the lifetime achievement award.
“Who knew that such a bad boy would grow up to be such a good man?” De Niro said of Penn, who blushed.
