Gossip Girl star, Matthew Settle confirms divorce rumors

[HMG] – We mentioned yesterday that the marriage of Gossip Girl star, Matthew Settle and his wife, Naama Nativ had run aground, and today we get unwelcome proof this was not merely a rumor.

“It’s true and we are working on that,” Matt told People at the ‘G-Star Raw’ fashion show in New York yesterday. “Things happen in life and you just have to roll with it. I wish things could have been better but our focus is on our daughter.”

And a close friend of the couple confirms the pair have already split to avoid further conflict;

“They’ve been separated for a while now,” so we’re told.

Matt and Naama had lived together in Manhattan since their marriage in 2006, thus allowing Matt to be close to the Gossip Girl set for his role as Rufus Humphrey. The usual legal proceedings are being prepared, but no divorce papers have yet been filed. So what about 11-month old Aven, you may ask?

“The baby’s doing great,” the source told reporters. “Both parents are devoted to her. Aven is still a part of Matthew’s everyday life.”

So there we have it, kids. 46% of all US marriages end in divorce. And regrettably, Matt and Naama’s can now be added to that…
