‘Deadliest Catch’ star Phil Harris has died

(HMG) – ‘Deadliest Catch’ star Phil Harris has died, apparently from complications of the stroke he suffered a few weeks ago. Originally he was flown to an Anchorage hospital after suffering the stroke while unloading his boat at a port on St. Paul Island, Alaska. After undergoing 12 hours of surgery, the Seattle-based skipper of the Cornelia Marie, was placed under a medically-induced coma to reduce brain swelling. He eventually was brought out of the coma and had been making steady progress toward recovery until the sudden turn.
Harris’ kids, Jake and Josh, made the following statement to TMZ:
“It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad, Captain Phil Harris. Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end. For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down. We will remember and celebrate that strength. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.”
Rest in peace Phil. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Harris family and the fishing community who knew him. You will be missed Phil, but every pot is full in heaven.
It is so heartbreaking to hear the death of Phil Harris, he was a Super Guy, I enjoyed watching him so much. He sure did know his stuff about fishing and being a Captain and Father.
