Christopher Nolan Officially Working on ‘Batman 3 and New ‘Superman’ Reboot Film

Christopher Nolan(HMG) – I think this will come as good news for super hero and DC comic book fans.  Deadline Hollywood states that Christopher Nolan is moving forward with a third Batman film, and Warner Bros. has also brought him on as a consultant for the next “Superman” film.   To finish up on The Dark Night first, Nolan has hatched an idea for Warner Bros’ third Batman installment. Now his brother and frequent collaborator Jonathan “Jonah” Nolan, and David Goyer who co-wrote Batman Begins and penned the story for The Dark Knight, are off scripting it.

Warner Bros. has tasked Nolan with a mentoring role in the “Superman” relaunch following the poorly received 2006 attempted reboot “Superman Returns.”   Nolan probably wouldn’t direct, because he’s also officially working on the second Batman Begins sequel now, but would just oversee the movie, in which Superman would somehow allow himself to be made a villain for a greater good.

The film would be the beginning of a brand new franchise, completely ignoring Superman Returns, however Deadline ominously mentions that “Returns” star Brandon Routh and director Bryan Singer aren’t officially off the relaunch yet.  Warner Bros. is under the gun to get this movie out because a judge ruled last July that the studio would lose the Superman franchise if they were not to start work on a new movie by 2011.  Meanwhile Chris Nolan is finishing up Inception, for Warner Bros starring Leonardo DiCaprio for a July 16th release.
