Nancy Grace ordered to be questioned on camera
[HMG] – CNN’s favorite despotic diva, Nancy Grace is being sued by a family who claim she had a part in their daughter’s suicide.
And now Nancy’s been ordered to tell her side on camera.
The 51-year old anchor is fighting a lawsuit brought by the family of Melinda Duckett, a 21-year old single-mom who was [so the lawsuit alleges] so traumatized by Nancy’s incessant questions about her missing 2-year old son back in 2006 that Melinda returned to her home and took her own life.
Tape shows the interview began with some degree of journalistic detachment, but soon Nancy is seen pounding the desk and literally screaming at Duckett when her questions were not answered to the host’s satisfaction.
The brow-beaten mother shot herself in the head the next day.
One week later, Grace appeared on ‘Good Morning America’ and without feeling one visible shred of remorse she calmly said this:
“If anything, I would suggest the guilt made her commit suicide.”
No blame has ever been placed on Ms. Duckett by the Police – The people who know what they’re doing.
The grieving parents swiftly sued both Grace and CNN for wrongful death, and now it’s her in the cross-hairs Nancy’s mastered a quite different tune: She complained to the court that the presence of cameras would cause her;
“Annoyance, embarrassment, oppression and undue harm, should the videotape be released for purposes unrelated to the litigation.”
And she’s not done: The whiny response also claims any leak of the tape could be used to “harass, embarrass and intimidate Ms. Grace, and corrupt the jury pool.”
It would not, however, cause her to commit suicide…A small point she seems to have missed.
TMZ says the Judge cut Nancy off at the knees by ruling her deposition can be recorded, but the result can’t be released to the media without the court’s permission.
Nancy must therefore attend court in Atlanta tomorrow and follow the law — just like anyone else.
We’ll let you known how this goes…

I think that if Nancy really believed Melinda Duckett harmed her son, or knew where he was, if alive, she made a grave mistake in attacking her like she did. I do think that episode sent the young mother over the edge, and contributed greatly to her suicide. If Nancy is right, and she was “guilty” as Nancy said, then Nancy may have kept law enforcement from finding the child. I watch her every night, and am a fan, but I don’t know how Nancy could have been so callous after learning that the woman took her life.
Nancy should be able to take some of her own medicine. Look at the way she handled Tiger Woods. She treated Tiger like he just killed someone. It was a disgrace what she did to this man. Now she does not want to be under the gun. She spent days on the “Balloon Boy”. Over and over and over again. Now that it is about her let’s see how much she can take. Let’s see all the stations turn on her and call her a murderer.
Nancy Grace is nasty to everyone who appears on the show. I don’t know how she gets anyone to appear. If she does not like what they say, she gets nasty. The fact that she was a prosecutor is a little played-out now. Nancy has not heard of Karma. She is not special and does not deserve special treatment. Isn’t that what she says about everyone that is in Jail?? I am looking forward to this trial. It should be televised. These talk show hosts should be careful about how they can destroy peoples lives.
