Angeline Jolie shares loving tribute to her late mom

[HMG] – While we’ve covered this week’s rumors of an irreparable split between Angelina Jolie and her companion, Brad Pitt, there is other news to report on Ms. Jolie — She’s missing her mom.

The 34-year old actress and her brother, James have released this touching tribute to their late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who lost her fight with ovarian cancer exactly three years ago to this day.

Opening with a title card that explains her beloved mom’s attraction to the joys of Hawaii, the emotional tribute features previously unseen home-movies of a 6-year old Angie cavorting on the beach, then dancing the hula with Marcheline.

More clips follow, and this clearly heartfelt reminiscence closes with a touching farewell to their absent parent from the star and her bro.

Angie got her break in a rather forgettable 1982-vintage comedy called, ‘Lookin’ to Get Out’ that was penned by and co-starred her father, Jon Voight. But as the path of her career made its way to the stars she gave Marcheline all the credit for her success:

Just after her mom lost her battle, Angelina told NBC’s Ann Curry that Marcheline was:

“So full of kindness and love. She was one of those women who’d spend weeks to plan the right birthday party…And write four drafts to get a birthday card ready, and you could save them – and that meant something.”

She also told Ann her abiding desire was that one day she might become “even a sliver of what my mother was.”

Watch this tape — From the care and emotion with which it’s been made you can tell she’s still chasing that dream…
