Rob Lowe Leaving “Brothers & Sisters” But Might Get His Own Series

(HMG) – Rob Lowe who plays Senator Robert McCallister in the ABC drama Brothers & Sisters is departing the show at the end of the season, Deadline Hollywood confirmed Thursday.  Apparently Lowe felt he was being underutilized by series writers and asked to be released from his contract. The network didn’t play hardball and agreed, allegedly because they want to retain Lowe ‘s acting services for the future.  Lowe who has previously starred in TV dramas such as  ‘The West Wing,’  ‘Dr. Vegas’ and ‘The Lyon’s Den,’  is said to be in talks now with ABC about being featured in an unnamed new series.  Lowe who joined Brothers & Sisters a third of the way into the first season, will exit the series at the end of season 4, which is set to air in February.
