[HMG] – Just when you thought the pain was over, American Idol co-creator, Simon Fuller has announced those ubiquitous bimbos from the mid-1990′s, the Spice Girls are preparing a comeback – Again.

With the working title of ‘Viva Forever’ — named after one of their collective atonal whinings — the new show is a co-production between Fuller and ‘Mamma Mia’ producer, Judy Craymer, and is due to open later this year in London’s West End.

Fuller, 49, who managed the motley collection of untalented puppets at the peak of their undeserved fame says the group are all ‘very excited’ about the new project.

And in a shameful repeat of the laughable hype he repeatedly employed to make them famous at all, he has now released this modest statement;

“What Judy has achieved with her all-conquering box office smash-hit, ‘Mamma Mia!’ and what the Spice Girls created with their powerful, record-breaking mix of girl power and hit songs has influenced pop culture more than anyone can imagine.”

Have you ever seen so much concentrated, unsupported BS in one message??

Ms. Craymer, meanwhile, tells the BBC her plan is “to create a unique celebration of the band and its music, with its own flavor and joyful message.” She then goes on to muse, “It’s important that their excitement, style and humor is well represented on stage.”

At least with her I can hang on to my breakfast…Well, just.

For those too young to have shared in the scars, the Spice Girls were a prefabricated, miming assemblage of tone-deaf clothes horses who, through a patronizing blend of endless publicity stunts and wall-to-wall hype achieved a short burst of entirely unmerited fame in the mid 1990′s.

And this is not even the first time these witless wonders have been resurrected — In 2007, the five band-members staged what was sold to the press as their ‘Farewell Tour.’ Then they moved on to chase solo careers.

And without all hype they have sunk without trace…
