George Clooney now planning fatherhood?

[HMG] – Despite being deeply involved in forming and hosting a Haiti telethon, George Clooney has other plans on his mind -  the suave Dr. Doug Ross is now planning fatherhood.

The fabled romance between the 48-year old actor and his lady, stunning 31-year old Italian model and TV host, Elisabetta Canalis has now reached such a depth that when Elisabetta told George she wanted babies, the smooth Mr. Clooney actually agreed.

“George has done a complete 180 on starting a family,” a friend told the Enquirer. “He’s still not a huge fan of marriage, but Elisabetta has made him rethink having children and settling down. They’re incredibly happy and I can see them having a baby in the next year.”

The idea – which most fans of George will tell you, he would have dismissed without hesitation a few years ago – grew from an off-hand remark between the couple over the holidays.

“Elisabetta is crazy about George and wanted to make that clear to him,” says our friend. “When he asked what she wanted for Christmas, she said, ‘Your baby!’ George was a bit startled but it made him think how ready he is to be a dad…And that’s when he told her to be careful what she wished for.”

The pair met among the splendors of Italy last Summer, and were soon sharing George’s spacious 25-room villa on Lake Como, a haven of Mediterranean tranquility nestled among lush, verdant hillsides 30-miles from Milan.

“At his Christmas party they were acting more in love than ever, and broke into huge smiles when anyone mentioned their having a future together,” recalls the source. “George was quick to tell the story of Elisabetta’s Christmas wish – adding that if she’s a really good girl, next Christmas Santa might bring what she wants.”
