Report: Tiger Woods checks into Mississippi sex addiction clinic

tiger-woods[1](HMG) –  In the ever elusive ‘where’s Tiger Woods game’, a new report says the embattled world’s number 1 golfer is receiving treatment for sex addiction in a Mississippi clinic called Pine Grove.

It is the second treatment facility rumored to be hosting the 34-year-old, whose carefully cultivated image came undone by a National Enquirer report linking Tiger to Rachel Uchitel, which seemingly started a chain reaction of events with the car crash  on November 27 outside his home less than two months ago.  The crash then precipitated a string of claims from women who alleged affairs and liaisons with the golfing superstar.

Last week People Magazine reported that Woods had checked into The Meadows, a clinic in Wickenburg, Arizona.  But now staff and visitors at the Hattiesburg clinic confirmed to local television news station WJTV that Tiger was staying at the facility, although a Pine Grove official spokesperson would not confirm or deny he is there.

But one man told WJTV he saw Woods arriving at the Hattiesburg-Bobby L. Chain Municipal Airport last Monday night:

“He didn’t look happy or sad, just straight,” the man, Adrian Smith, told the station.

“He looked around and got in the driver’s seat.

“He didn’t seem to be in a hurry. He just walked around the car and got in.

“He sat there for a few seconds, then just drove off. His luggage was already in the car.”

Pine Grove offers a six-week program called Gentle Path for people suffering from sexual addiction.  The clinic’s facilities director, Dr Patrick Carnes, is said to have pioneered treatment for sexually compulsive behavior. My own two cents about this is that I hope if Tiger is in rehab it is because he wants to change, and not because this is some PR attempt to help relaunch his image.
