Jimmy Kimmell rips Leno over O’Brien feud

[HMG] – In a verbal shredding that must have driven fans of Conan O’Brien into fits of delight, Jimmy Kimmel used his guest spot on Jay Leno’s now-canceled show to make his support for O’Brien quite clear;

The word from EW is that the 42-year old ABC host was invited to be a guest on Jay’s ’10 @ 10′ segment to prove there was no insult taken by Jimmy hosting his Tuesday-night show in a Leno costume. Instead, Kimmell used all ten questions to insult or belittle Leno for what he [and most Conan fans] perceive as an assault on O’Brien.

But remember two things — this whole fiasco has been blamed on the ratings, and the endless, press-hogging tantrum between Leno, O’Brien and NBC has boosted those numbers for both shows to heights neither has seen.

And the ‘scandal’ caused by Jim’s answers will now drive them right to the moon…So NBC wins.

Also, it’s highly unlikely that Kimmel’s ABC minders would let their late-night star be a guest on a rival network without preparation. The odds that both sides knew the questions and answers before taping are huge.
