Whitney Houston facing addiction relapse, sources say
[HMG] – Despite a stormy divorce back in 2007, friends are concerned that Whitney Houston may be returning to one of ex-husband Bobby Brown’s alleged hobbies, and has started to use drugs once again.
The 46-year old singer has admitted to having problems with drugs in the past, but despite the welcome success of a chart-topping CD, friends say they are noticing signs of addiction again.
“Everyone’s worried about her,” says one insider. “Whitney seems to go from being a nervous wreck to being completely out of it — just like she did when she used to freebase and use crack.”
Her friends are concerned that addiction could cost Whitney her comeback, and finally kill her once peerless career. And as the only female artist in history to have three separate albums sell 9-million copies, you can see their concern. Her 1985 debut, “Whitney” has sold 24-million alone…And that’s just so far.
“She’s still drinking,” says a friend. “And with Whitney, alcohol and drugs always went hand-in-hand. She’s worked so hard to get back on top. It would be tragic for this to go up in smoke because she can’t stay clean.”
And though she’s still actively planning the next stage of her comeback, Whitney’s friends say the singer has changed her whole mood;
“She often appears tense and overanxious,” a source tells The Enquirer. “You can’t help worrying that she’s slipped back into some bad habits.”
Whitney’s own reps have said nothing so far, but if they make a statement we’ll make sure you know…

This is garbage. What kind of ” Friend” would say this? Whitney herself said in the Oprah interview that alcohol was not a problem for her–it was an issue for Bobby but not for her. I’d go with Whitney on this–she is the only source that should be consulted. Sourcing The National Enquirer is pathetic. Just another attempt to discredit Whitney thru rumor and inuendo. Anything to distract from her talent and success. Besides, putting Whitney Houston’s name in any article attracts interest–the truth is not a consideration. And people wonder why “Show business” drives stars over the edge? If they make one mistake in their lives it is rewound for the rest of their lives.

As someone who has witnessed addiction up close and personal, I do fear a relapse with Whitney. It has been too soon to declare her completely out of the woods. Drinking and cigarettes can indeed be a gateway, or enabler to experience heavier substances. I pray that this isn’t true; if it’s not, shame on the fools who put this mess out.

All the things that Whitney Houston has to endure….it seems that many want her to fail. They want to put her in the grave like they did Michael Jackson. Stomp on their hearts and their careers and then give post-humous awards. Drug addiction is powerful and the urge is always there. Whitney’s comeback has been so successful and so many are pulling for her. Come on Whitney. Don’t let them take you down…remember: “There’s been haters since this world’s been going around.” Love you Whitney. Stay strong.
Whitney has always just wanted to be left alone.. I wish people would give her that respect. Seems as though no one has seen her with anything but are just guessing just to have something to do.. I would expect that with this time of year, Whitney is where she should be.. With her family.. I’d say most people just need to get a life…

If Whitney is back on drugs, I pray that it is not prescription drugs. Hell, when was the last time someone died from crack. It’s the “legal” drugs that I’m concerned about; sweating, tension and overanxious are symptoms of a “pill.” Cancellations and no show-ups are “crack” symptoms.
It is a well known fact she is a lesbian or more likely bi as a fly. She had an ongoing affair with her assistant for many years and Bobby spoke many times of coming home to Whitney, buried in a girl’s bush!

Whitney has made amazing progress over the past 3 years. Everyone needs to just leave her alone. This woman has been through enough trials and tribulations to last a lifetime. If she is relapsing, hopefully her mother or daughter will intervene quickly. Because at this point we all know the truth about her past addictions, it is safe to say that we also can recognize the tell tale signs of her drug abuse. On the Oprah interview she appeared to be straight as an arrow, however seemed to be in a foggy state when performing live at some recent shows i’ve seen on you tube. I pray shes not turning to prescription drugs and alcohol as an alternative to the illegal drugs she was using from about 1994 to 2006. If so, she needs to consider staying in a 12-step program, and will realize that although those methods of getting high are legal, they can be far more lethal because no one thinks they’re a big deal. Either way, shes a beautiful person who has always been misunderstood by the media, and i’ve always felt her sense of privacy has been violated. As for Bobby, the best thing she ever did was let him go. I could never understand why such a national treasure and beauty would ever cling to such a chaotic and unsatisfying marriage. However, after battling my own addictions and seeing friends go through the same, and after hearing her say that “he” was her addiction, i’ve come to see exactly the reasons why she stayed. I just hope for her sake she continues on the road of sobriety.
