Singer Van Morrison a Daddy Again at Age 64

(HMG) – ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ singer Van Morrison has become a father again at the age of 64.  The hitmaker whose real name is George Ivan Morrison,  and partner GiGi Lee welcomed son George Ivan Morrison III into the world yesterday the 28th of December.

Morrison wrote on his website:

“‘Gigi (Lee) and Van Morrison are proud to announce the birth of their first born son, George Ivan Morrison III.

‘Little Van, born Dec 28, 2009 — the spitting image of his daddy. He is a dual citizen of Northern Ireland/United Kingdom and the United States.’

Morrison has a 39-year-old daughter -singer-songwriter Shana Morrison, from his first marriage to Janet Minto, and has two children with his ex-girlfriend and former Miss Ireland Michelle Rocca.

Morrison, who battled alcohol addiction in the 70s and 80s and is now teetotal, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.

Update: Van Morrison told an Irish radio station that his official Web site was hacked and that a statement posted on the site reporting that he had fathered a child with his manager was “utterly without foundation.”
