Brittany Murphy (1977 – 2009) laid to rest in Hollywood Hills

(HMG) – Heartbroken friends and relatives gathered as Brittany Murphy was buried at a private ceremony in the Hollywood Hills.   Approximately 25 mourners attended the private service and burial at the Church of the Hills at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, as the late actress’  friends and family recalled her acts of generosity and the joy she brought into their lives.   The service was co-denominational, with a rabbi and a pastor present.   Following the service her family released a statement saying “A bright light that lit the world is forever dimmed, but will live on in the hearts of those that Brittany touched.”

The 32-year-old actress passed away after collapsing at home last Sunday and was pronounced dead hours later at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.  Authorities continue to investigate the death but do not suspect foul play. An autopsy Monday was inconclusive, and the coroner’s office is awaiting results of toxicology and tissue tests before determining an official cause of death.
