LeAnn Rimes Wisely Makes Quick Divorce Settlement with Deane Sheremet

(HMG) – Country singer LeAnn Rimes has quickly agreed to a divorce settlement with her estranged husband Deane Sheremet. Sheremet filed for a divorce from his wife of seven years on Thursday and according to Los Angeles court records, a confidential settlement was agreed later the same day. Sheremet seemingly had all the leverage and it likely would have been extremely embarrassing for Rimes had she gone to trial, where details of her affair with actor Eddie Cibrian after meeting him on the set of TV movie, Northern Lights, would have been exposed. Cibrian who now is living with Rimes is also embroiled in a bitter divorce and custody battle with his wife, Brandi Glanville. Early in September, Rimes had announced on her Web site she was officially divorcing from her estranged husband, but it was Sheremet who finally did so hastening the settlement.

In papers, Sheremet asked for the singer to pay spousal support plus all attorney fees and costs. In documents obtained by People, the divorce deal states, “The (settlement) shall not be filed in this proceeding due to the parties’ mutual desire to maintain their respective rights to privacy.”  The union will be officially dissolved as of 19 June, 2010.  The two did not have any children.
