Pete Doherty[HMG] – In further proof that some current stars have a fondness for screw-ups that approaches obsession, Pete Doherty has been arrested in England for allegedly carrying drugs into a court – where he was on trial for possession of drugs.

The 30-year old front-man for Brit indie-band, ‘Babyshambles’ was summoned to attended Gloucester Crown Court early today to face charges of careless driving, driving without any insurance or a license, a DUI charge, and two separate charges of possession of heroin.

All this relates to one day back in June when Pete was arrested after a gig at a local arts center. Prosecutor, Sarah Regan told the court Police saw Pete’s car almost mount the curb as he made a right turn. And when the cops pulled him over he tried to swap seats with a friend, Daisy Whitbread so they’d think she was driving.

Pete was breathalyzed at the scene and found to be 50% over the UK’s legal limit of ‘.35.’ Drugs and a crack pipe were also found in the car. This got his home searched, and another fifteen packets of heroin worth $500 each were discovered and seized.

The Judge found him guilty on all of the charges and Pete was fined $3,300, plus costs, and banned from driving for a year and a half. But as he left the court he was arrested again, and now faces new charges of bringing drugs to the trial;

“He was being frisked by a security officer when he arrived,” an eye-witness has since told The Sun. “And when he emptied his pockets a packet fell out. The guard saw it contained some blue crystals and called the police, and about six officers waited to arrest him when his case was complete.”

The arrest went without hitch and Pete was marched straight out of the court house, across the road and into a cell at the local PD, where he is currently in custody pending an application for bail.
