Howard Stern: Is He Gonna Walk, Or Is It BS?
(HMG) – Howard Stern has been flourishing on satellite radio for the last several years, finally able to spread his wings and get as filthy as he wants to. But he is now threatening to leave Sirius, which is causing a few eyebrows to raise…and even more to waggle.
The chances of Stern leaving Sirius are slim. Not only has he been able to enjoy censor-free radio, effectively ending his constant legal battles over content, but he is getting a huge amount of dough to do it.
So, why is he giving threats?
Chances are it has to do with the fact that negotiations on his contract, set originally in 2006, are opening in 2010. While he already has a $500 million contract, Howie might not be satisfied.
All in all, unless he is genuinely thinking of retiring with the ridiculous sum of money he has made, he needs to shut his trap. Sirius doesn’t have the cash for a larger payout, and Stern isn’t as popular as he once was.
If he does leave, I won’t be shedding a tear.

Sirius/XM is dead without Stern.
It doesn’t matter how much good Stern has done for Sirius – they can’t pay him what they can’t afford, and he really has nowhere else he could go that would pay him $100M/yr.
