Jerry-Seinfeld - on -Conan-OBrien[HMG] – Since Conan O’Brien took the Tonight Show’s reins from Jay Leno, ratings have been in a free-fall. And now even the intellectually untroubled Muppets who run NBC are said to be plotting replacement. And top of their list for the job is the unique Jerry Seinfeld.

“NBC just can’t carry on like this,” an NBC insider has told Popeater. ‘The Tonight Show’ has lost 52-percent of its viewers in a single year. Last month’s ratings will be the lowest in 15 years,” we are told.

Since his self-titled sit-com, which scored stunning [and wholly inexplicable] ratings for the network from its debut in July 1989 to a hype-saturated finale in May ’98, Seinfeld was, and remains NBC’s golden boy. But getting the former star to step into the show is thought by insiders to be a long-shot at best.

But how do we know such plans are in motion? Easy: Because the chair-bound simpletons who took a late-night show with no competition and screwed it into the floor are now denying the story with every available breath;

“Completely false,” NBC spokesman, Drew Shane told reporters. “There are no conversations happening. Conan is the host of the ‘Tonight Show,” he insisted.

Only a network could hire this much dumb. — Jay Leno was #1 for seventeen years; No other show could see his ratings with Hubble. So what do the geniuses at NBC do? Cast him adrift and suck up to Conan. And now their own witless meddling might threaten their jobs they’re scrambling for life-belts, while fervently denying they’re just saving their own necks.

They couldn’t find their own butts with both hands and a map…and we let these clowns run a network…
