Josh Brolin[HMG] – In a logical follow-up to our earlier story about one of the most successful franchises currently in play, it’s being rumored that Josh Brolin could now join Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones for the next Men in Black.

The 41-year old actor is said to be in the running to slide into the dark suit and shades for the third installment of the slick action story, whose two previous chapters have already grossed over $1-billion worldwide.

He could play a new MIB agent with a one-letter name, or he might play Tommy’s character as younger man…or he might just be something quite different — No-one is saying.

But whoever Josh plays, he is almost certain to be facing Will Smith. Talks are ongoing but the LA Times says Will is expected to revive Agent J.

With a script by “Tropic Thunder” scribe, Ethan Cohen and Barry Sonnenfeld likely to get on-board and direct, the exact date for filming is not certain as the movie has yet to be green-lit by Sony. But it’s currently scheduled for Spring of next year.

One snag in that time-frame is Brolin himself — with no less than six movies now either preparing to shoot or in post-production, getting some free time could be a challenge for Josh.

But if the money looks right he’ll probably manage.

We’ll let you know how that goes…
