Joely Richardson[HMG] – After eight months of trying to cope with the loss, Natasha Richardson’s sister, Joely is finally able to uncover the pain.

Talking to the UK’s Daily Mail, the 44-year old actress revealed how she coped with the shock of that day.

‘A strange autopilot kicks in,” she explained. “Your psyche puts your work day in a different box from your life. My first shot back on-set after the funeral required me to react to somebody dying.’

Natasha died at the age of just 45, after sustaining a head injury at the Mount Tremblant skiing resort in Quebec. She was air-lifted to New York for specialist treatment, where her husband Liam Neeson stood an emotional vigil, but despite the doctors best efforts Natasha died from a brain hemorrhage on March 18th.

“It shatters you on a cellular level,” Joely recalls. “And it takes time for the pieces to come back together. I hadn’t lived one day without her. You worry about your children and parents, but Tash was a given to me.”

But with life now somewhere closer to normal, Joely told the scribes she’s in the mood for some travel. She’s now coming to New York for two months with her own daughter – 17-year old Daisy – to be closer to Natasha’s sons, 14-year old Micheal, and Daniel, who’s 13.

The reporters then asked if Joely could ever come to terms with losing her sibling? “I don’t look at happiness as a goal. A sense of peace, definitely, but it works like the seasons.” she explained. “So much of what I am is who Tasha was, and there’s a level of merging. I cannot imagine there will ever be a day when I don’t think of Tasha.”

And those who have been there will know just what she means…
