Leonardo DiCaprio To Do First Animated Film as Jack Frost Turned SuperHero
(HMG) – Some people just have a great face for animation anyway (that’s a joke), but Leo is not one of them. Perhaps that’s why Leonardo DiCaprio is joining the legions of A-list actors who lend their voices to the animated screen. DiCaprio will be the voice of Jack Frost in DreamWorks’ production of The Guardians, to be released in November 2012. The movie based on the upcoming series of books by children’s author William Joyce (A Day with Wilbur Robinson, source of Meet the Robinsons), brings together the imaginary childhood characters of Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, and Jack Frost, who comprise a superhero team that fights an evil spirit. The computer-animated film will be directed by Peter Ramsey, whose only known credit is the recent Monsters vs. Aliens DVD spin-off Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space. It is the first time Leo will be participating in an animated film, but no surprise to see him recruited. Hollywood suits, still think A-list names sell tickets, even when you can’t see their pretty faces. DiCaprio is the first actor attached to the movie, but his signing will make it easier to bring in other big stars as needed. The Guardians is expected to hit theaters November 2, 2012.
On the romance side there have been recent indications that Leo may have rekindled for about the millionth time, with Bar Refaeli. The Hollywood heartthrob reportedly took the Israeli-born model to Baker’s Bay, an exclusive holiday resort in the Bahamas, two weekends ago where they stayed in their own private villa, according to a New York Post source.
