Police investigating possible domestic abuse charges against Elin Nordegren?
(HMG) — In the court of public opinion, I think many people have already drawn their own conclusions based on the unusual circumstances of the Tiger Woods – Elin Nordegren late night alleged domestic fight, turned car accident. Strangely to me anyway, police seem to be driven to dig deeper into the case, even though no one has filed a complaint. There are many things we don’t know and probably never will, but a case might still be made against Elin for domestic abuse based on CSI evidence according to reports.
Police would like to supplement their potential case or at least get a clearer understanding of what happened, but according to TMZ, Florida Highway Patrol has not only been denied meeting with the golf star and his wife, but are being stonewalled by Tiger’s lawyer in attempts to secure video of the accident from the surveillance cameras at his home. They’re not having much luck getting hospital medical records of the accident either so far, maybe for the same reasons.
Meanwhile what is known is that Tiger had a deep cut or cuts on his face, originally assumed to be from the car accident, but later speculated to have been inflicted from nail scratches from his wife, before he made a hasty retreat for the SUV. However, TMZ sources claim there was absolutely no blood found in the SUV, raising more suspicion with law enforcement that the wounds didn’t come from the car accident. I am fighting my own double standards biases on this I guess. If the roles were reversed and it was Elin or whatever woman that was hurt in this situation I would probably be happy to hear that police were conducting an investigation. But as it is a woman being the potential culprit, I am tending to be more dismissive of the police pressing on, and that’s probably wrong on my part.

That is the silliest thing that I have ever heard……you think that if the gal got whacked, you would invite a further inquiry. But, since the guy got whacked, you want them to chill out and forget about it?
I am not from Florida, but I think that I read somewhere that Florida has the rule whereby the State can press charges even if none of the parties involved file a complaint. The police are just doing their jobs.
Let’s say that they ignore this (or any other random domestic abuse case) because “only the guy got whacked”. Then, at sometime down the line, the guy gets whacked again and is injured or killed. Then, the Police would be seriously judged in a negative manner for allowing the initial issue to go unchecked.
If this is just a car crash, it will be found to be so and be over. If someone was whacked with a Nike Sumo Driver, this must be found out and dealt with. I have been hit in the head with an errant golf club in my life and it is not good. A golf club swung in anger could do some serious damage to anyone on the receiving end.
It could have been a domestic violence. But since the couple is obviously avoiding the issue and doesn’t want to talk about it – let’s just leave it as that.
It is their personal issue and if both of them are not willing to discuss it, the media should not poke their nose to cause damage to their relationship.
No one ever wants to believe that women could be responsible for domestic violence issues, do they? Its a myth pushed by women’s groups who do nothing but villify men any time there is an altercation between men and women.
Violence against anyone should never be tolerated. Ever. However, if you believe most women’s groups its always the man who is a criminal in this.
I was actually involved in a domestic altercation where my ex spouse went berserk on me, punched me in the face over a dozen times, kicked, scratched and clawed in the face, and even had my shirt torn off out in front of our house. There was a neighbor who witnessed the altercation and saw me do everything I could to keep her off me – and when I finally managed to push her away and run inside the house and lock the door our neighbor came outside, comforted my ex, took her to his home…and called the cops.
Guess what happened? I got charged with spousal assault. I was ordered not to come to my home for two months and not to communicate with my spouse (I had two children who I could not see during that time either). Prosecuters went all out to punish me.
And the kicker…all the while when prosecuters were doing everything they could to destroy my life – my ex was doing everything she could to tell everyone that she was the one at fault, that she caused the assault, that I was innocent and did nothing but defend myself by pushing her away and running inside…
…AND PROSECUTERS DECIDED THAT THEY COULD NOT ACCEPT HER STORY AS ITS THEIR POSITION THAT ABUSED WOMEN WILL OFTEN SAY ANYTHING TO PROTECT A SPOUSE WHEN THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT PASSES.
How can men defend themselves in the face of those kind of forces?
Don’t tell me women can’t be violent…they bloody well can. And you people are delusional if you don’t think that many of these disputes aren’t initiated or escalated by women who think that a woman can do anything they want – including be violent – and expect that a man can/will/should do nothing but sit there and take it, even if situation is as emotionally charged as you can often imagine that an intimate relationship can reach.
I would not be surprised if Tiger was just trying to get the fuck away from his screaming wife, and she chased him out of the house with that golf club – because she has the same attitude as many women out there who think that he “deserved it” and “had it coming”.
Anger is always a wrong deed no matter who they are guilty must be punished.
