(HMG) – White House State Dinner crashers Tareq and Michaele Salahi, who got past security and waltzed uninvited into a state dinner with President Obama last week, have bailed on appearing on Larry King Live tonight (Monday). Rumor is the fame-seeking Real Housewives hopefuls dropped out of this evening’s scheduled appearance, because CNN refused to meet their asking price. The NY Daily News reported Sunday that reps for the perhaps cash-strapped couple contacted networks and urged them to “get their bids in” for what they hope will be a mid-six figure deal for the couple’s first television interview.
Mahogany Jones, a spokeswoman for the Salahi’s has responded saying:
“The rumors and allegations that we are demanding money for interviews is completely false.”
Network insiders disputed Jones’ claims according to Daily News, saying the couple wanted money to talk, but the networks didn’t want to pay.
Jones blamed the the last minute move to not appear on “Larry King Live” was due to “miscommunication” and insisted the couple are turning down all requests. Somehow I am just not buying that.
The secret service has gotten and taken the blame for the security lapse that have given the Salahi’s their 15 minutes or more of fame. However Newsweek reports that the woman in charge of supervising the guest list for state dinners quit in June after she was stripped of most of her responsibilities, by Obama’s social secretary, Desiree Rogers. Cathy Hargraves, the former assistant for arrangements, says that had she been present, she’d have likely been at the entrance supervising the guest list.

Okay… now who is “Mohagony Jones?” That sounds like a stage name. Is she a singer? What is her relationship with these two idiots? How do they know each other? How are they paying her?
