Donny Osmond’s pro dancing partner Kym Johnson heads to Broadway

(HMG) – Donny Osmond’s pro partner Kym Johnson already on top of the world after winning on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” will have little time to celebrate as she moves onto a Broadway gig.  Kym is set to make her Broadway debut today (Friday) partnered with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, another alum of “Stars,” in “Burn the Floor,” producer Harley Medcalf announced Wednesday. Maksim opened “Burn the Floor”  the hot-blooded ballroom dance show at the Longacre Theatre, on Broadway in August. But Kym actually is no newbie to the show, as she opened the original workshop of “Burn the Floor” in London in 1998 and later toured around the world with the production.

Johnson and Chmerkovskiy will be on Broadway through Jan. 10.  Mary Murphy of FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance” and Alec Mazo and Edyta Sliwinska, also from “Dancing With the Stars,” join “Burn the Floor,” On Jan. 12. As the the show’s Broadway engagement has been extended  now until Feb. 14.
