Carrie Ann Inaba faces surgery to stop spinal pain

[HMG] – In unfortunate proof that even the most supple and super-fit beings among us can suffer from pain, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ judge, Carrie Ann Inaba is scheduled for surgery to undo a pinched spine.
A star judge on ABC’s hit dancing show since 2005, the 41-year old choreographer is scheduled for surgery today to relieve a painful condition known as ‘Spinal stenosis.’
Caused when the spinal column narrows and pinches some quite major nerves, this deeply painful condition can cause muscle spasms that make any useful levels of movement close to impossible.
And dancing is one major cause.
“I have a kind of arthritis,” Carrie told People. “The space around my spine is compressed, and my neck was really stiff. We’re hoping this procedure will help that.”
One of the most respected exponents of dance currently at work in the business, Carrie caught the bug at age six when she became hooked on the Hula in her native Hawaii. Since then she’s brought her fast-moving footwork to such popular venues as American Idol, The Swan and the Miss America Pageant, which she’s choreographed for the last five straight years.
But her positive, can-do outlook is still on show as she faces the knife; “I’ll be fine, and if this surgery goes well I may have another in the future,” she told People’s scribes.
The procedure itself is quite safe, and recovery’s a matter of days. In fact, Carrie already has plans to attend the dance celebration on November 29, run by the Los Angeles-based ‘Dizzy Feet Foundation’ of which she’s a co-founder.
And we here at Hot Momma Towers wish the good lady well…

You when be in my thoughts and prayers. I have had the same surgery. And it was like night and day. I did have some muscle spasms for a couple of weeks after the surgery, but all in all, I would not change a thing. Good luck with yours. We’ll be waiting for a good report. I believe you’ll be fine. Have a very happy Thanksgiving and a safe and MERRY HOLIDAY SEASON.
You are my favorite on the show. Keep telling it like it is. I believe they need complete honesty.
Thank you for the great job you do.
