Top fashion model, Daul Kim commits suicide at tender age of 20

[HMG] In further unwelcome proof that fashion is not the carefree, glamorous whirl it may seem from outside, South Korean supermodel Daul Kim has been found hanged in her Paris apartment at the age of just 20.
“The French police have informed us that Kim committed suicide in her apartment,” Korean embassy spokesman Lee Seung Yoo told the Herald Sun. “Her family are coming to Paris from Seoul and will be arriving late today or tomorrow,” he added.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Kim began her career quietly in Asia before taking the world’s runways by force back in 2007, sporting top-flight names like Chanel, Dries Van Noten and Maison Martin Margiela. Away from the catwalks, her TV work included a recent commercial for Top Shop.
But as her profile developed, Kim soon felt the strain of the constant demand; In a blog entry on October 30th, composed after a hectic modeling stint back in Seoul she complained of becoming “mad, depressed and overworked”.
Well known for her hugely popular blog, ”I Like To Fork Myself” Kim’s final entry composed yesterday was a clear hint at what was to come. It read simply, “Say hi to forever” and had a link to the song, ‘I Go Deep’ by British singer Jim Rivers.
Close friends had noticed symptoms of stress but her death is still a great shock to those closest to her, “She was a top model and a great friend of all of us,” her Parisian reps have since told the press.
Kim’s family are now believed to have just landed in France and funeral arrangements are already in hand…
