Universal Decides ‘Couples Retreat’ Poster Too Black For Europe?

Universal Studios has come under fire after they removed the two only black actors in the film ‘Couples Retreat’ from the posters set for Europe.

Faizon Love and Kali Hawk, who play a divorced man and his new girlfriend in the new unfunny-looking film, were removed from the posters, both in image and in name.

Universal has been accused of being racist, though they insist it was only to include names that were well known in International markets, and that it had nothing to do with the skin color of the actors.  This is perhaps simply a case of the old Hollywood star system?

The studio said it regretted causing offense and has abandoned plans to use the revised poster in other countries, because of the furor.
