Michelle Wie finally gets her 1st LPGA Tour win

Congratulations to Michelle Wie who got her first LPGA Tour win and perhaps got a huge monkey off her back.  Wie, who just turned 20 last month, finally broke through with a 3-under 69 for a two-stroke victory over Paula Creamer in the Lorena Ochoa Invitational. Wie finished off the victory in style, hitting a greenside bunker shot within a foot on the final hole to set up a birdie.

Wie turned professional with an enormous amount of hype and endorsements, and perhaps got ahead of herself. She played mens PGA Tour events when she was 14, and was criticized at the time for not focusing on winning a women’s event first.
