Ken Ober, MTV’s ‘Remote Control’ host, has died
Ken Ober, the writer and comedian best-known for hosting MTV’s late-’80s game show “Remote Control,” had died. Ober’s reps confirm that he passed away on Sunday at the age of 52. According to Ken’s manager, he complained about a headache and flu-like symptoms on Saturday night.
Ober had worked as writer and producer on Comedy Central’s “Mind of Mencia” in recent years and also did a stint as a consulting producer on “The New Adventures of Old Christine” in 2006, but is best remembered as the host of “Remote Control,” the TV-obsessed game show that aired on MTV for 5 seasons. The show, also provided a launching pad for the careers of comedians like Adam Sandler and Colin Quinn.
