Carrie Prejean Talks Boobs, The Bible, and Perez Hilton
Carrie Prejean spoke with Christianity Today about her recent media exposure, and about how she is doing well because the bible tells her so.
Now, normally, I would just write up a story based on what Prejean said, but today it feels as though I should let her speak for herself. Here are a few choice quotes from the fallen beauty queen:
On whether or not she would say the same thing about gay marriage today, even if her opinion was in a severe minority:
“Yeah, it just happens that everyone else agrees with me. I didn’t know the percentage of voters who voted against Proposition 8. That was not my platform—I wasn’t out there to say marriage is between a man and a woman. I answered the question just like I would answer a question on any other topic. It was just an honest answer.”
On whether or not she had ‘forgiven’ Perez Hilton for his question about gay marriage, and his subsequent reaction:
“Oh yeah. I actually feel really sorry for him. I really do. If you look at his website, it’s kind of scary what he does.”
On what she would say to those who openly hate homosexuals:
People who say I hate gays and lesbians are, in a polite way, ignorant. I think they don’t see that just because someone doesn’t agree with redefining marriage that they hate you—I’ve never said that I hated gays. I have friends who are gay. I have hairdressers who are gay. I live in California—that’s the most liberal state there is. I am not afraid of gays. It’s just a personal opinion. They have an opinion; I have my own opinion. Why is my opinion not valid?
On whether or not her breast implants are incompatible with Christianity:
“No, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with getting breast implants as a Christian. I think it’s a personal decision. I don’t see anywhere in the Bible where it says you shouldn’t get breast implants.”
Apparently she has never read the passages about vanity. Though, she seems to have missed the chapters on being a hypocrite, as well.
Oh, Carrie Prejean, your time in the spotlight is almost up. But I look forward to more interviews like these in the future.

I think she is right. The bible says that homosexualty is an abomination in the eyes of God. Secondly there are over 90 Million people in the US alon that are Christians and believe this also. let alone all of the Christians around the world and by consertative estimates ther are over a billion people that are christian.
And who’s version of the Bible are we to follow? The politically correct one, where pronouns are replaced? The one with the Apochrypha for the Catholics? The Kings James for the not? The Revised where women are still less than men? The supposed original where it was okay to own slaves, sleep with your sister in law to get a child, have a mistress and a wife? Cut of a hand if offends you, gouge out the eye that commits adultery through looking? Which one?
Or should it be the spirit of the God, that simple says love one another as you would love yourself.
I know which “law” my heart chooses.
There is a distinct difference between faith and religion. Faith is belief and love, respect. Religion is manmade, a need to belong. Woe is God’s heart for all the horror committed in his name.
Y’all can quote alll you want now; you may have read “your” Bible but you haven’t “seen” what it means.
More’s the pity.
One more thing, EVERYONE doesn’t agree with Prejean. And the passage of demeaning laws/resolutions to hinder your fellow man have been happening with less and less margin of victory.
It isn’t a universal wish to do so, only in fearful people’s minds. I still haven’t had one single opponent of same sex marriage adequately explain how another couple’s happiness remotely impacts theirs, especially if you ask them to explain it leaving out the religion part, and only sticking to the emotional side. Can’t be done, because it doesn’t. Besides, it’s unlawful. A singular belief system/religious precedent has no place in determining law for ALL citizens what a law should be. Not all are members of the same belief, but ALL are free citizens of this country. The law should be equal to all. No gay marriage, no straight marriage, either. Perhaps your marriage would offend me and risk my children’s well being. Think about that.
Alternate universe, indeed.
