Woman Attacked by Chimp Interviews and Reveals Face On Oprah Winfrey Show
Remember that poor woman who was mauled and blinded after her friends, 200-pound chimpanzee attacked her in February? The attacked by Travis the chimp, left Charla Nash with no eyes, hands, lips, and a horrifically disfigured nose. The chimpanzee also chewed Charla’s hands off, except for one thumb. Doctors crafted a hole in her face with which she can drink through by using a straw, but she can’t have solid foods. A team of surgeons worked to save her life but the damage is shocking and complete, and only her forehead is intact. Nash bravely made an appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” in a private interview. She tells Oprah that she has no memory of the attack. All she remembers is waking up from a coma in the hospital to hear that she was mauled by a chimpanzee. I hope she never gets her memory back about that attack. It is bad enough with what she has to live with without recalling how it happened. I wonder if she may someday have a complete face transplant someday, which was recently pioneered at the Cleveland Clinic? Warning videos below after the ‘more’ does show Charla’s poor face and it’s not pleasant.
