Ashlee Simpson to revive Broadway role?

In sad news for Dancing with the Stars’ salsa star, Cheryl Burke, it’s been announced she will not star as Roxie in Broadway’s smash-hit, Chicago — but Ashlee Simpson just might.
Having already completed a successful five-week engagement in the role in London’s West End back in 2006, the 28-year old ex-Melrose star and younger sister of Jessica is now tipped to revisit her bond with the role on New York’s iconic road;
“It’s a lot of hard work,” Ashlee told OK last year, “But it’s a fantastic show – I would love to do it again!”
And despite being dropped from Melrose to enable Heather Locklear’s return, Ashlee may well have the chops for this gig – She started dancing at age four, became the youngest person ever accepted into New York’s prestigious ‘School of American Ballet’ at eleven, and was dancing professionally by the age of fourteen.
…Still can’t act, though.
Her new Broadway engagement is not yet confirmed, but if that changes you can bet Ashlee will let us all know, so stay tuned…
