Ashlee Simpson was too much the diva on Melrose set?

We reported before how Ashlee Simpson got booted from Melrose, and the usual face-saving schmooze-fest was in play at the time to explain her demise; But now some more believable reasons are starting to leak.
“Ashlee was kicked off ‘Melrose Place’ because she was a total diva on-set, late all the time, and hated by her fellow cast members,” an insider tells Fox. “It created a lot of discord among the cast.”
And if you’ve ever endured Ashlee’s scenes in the show, this next tip will hardly surprise you;
“And she could barely act,” adds the snitch.
But while being a talentless diva is hardly unusual behavior among actors these days, the main reason Ashlee got cut was so the CW suits could bribe Heather Locklear to come back and thus save their own jobs. “They basically trimmed the fat and made it possible for Heather to join the show,” says the source. “Heather is a much bigger name than Ashlee.”
And Heather will not be alone – the insider also confirms that ex-Melrose compadre, Jack Wagner will be returning quite soon.
So if the producers dumped Ashlee to get Heather and Jack, who should be next to return? And who would you kill off to afford them?
