Director Sam Taylor-Wood casts leading 19-Year-Old man as husband
Sam Taylor-Wood is an impressive woman. The 42-year-old has been a leading player in the art world, has created several acclaimed films, and has battled colon and breast cancer. But I can’t help but be a little creeped out by her latest achievement: snaring a teenager.
Taylor-Wood has announced that she is engaged to 19-year-old Aaron Johnson, the guys who plays John Lennon in her latest film.
At 23-years her junior, I am icked out. Now, before people start getting all self-righteous on me, spouting off about “Well, when men do it…”, let me just cut you off right there. I think it is just as creepy when men do it.
Taylor-Wood’s ex, Jay Jopling, is 45, and he was dating Lily Allen, who was 22. But, to be fair, he didn’t decide to marry her, and she was old enough to drink legally in the U.S. on a visit here. Therefore, I am not creeped out.
It isn’t the age, it is the engagement.
I can understand the appeal of dating a man so much younger after a long relationship with someone your age. A lot of women do that. But marrying him? Come on, Sam, you have a daughter 7 years younger than him!

it’s the fact he’s still an adolescent that skeeves me. If he were 30 and she 53, it wouldn’t creep me out as much.
