The 82nd annual Academy Awards will go on without, Hugh Jackman who has turned down the chance to host the 2010 Oscar show.
The X-Men star, who was widely praised for bringing back music and dance to last year’s ceremony declined the chance to renew Oscar presenting duties, according to Variety. Jackman may take on the master of ceremonies role in the future, but reportedly does not want to oversee the event for two years in a row.
Jackman instead chosen to prepare for his next film Real Steel once his Broadway run on drama A Steady Rain with Daniel Craig is completed.
Not sure who will be stepping in for Hugh. My first guess would have been Ricky Gervais, but he’s busy with the Golden Globes now.
The 82nd Academy Awards will take place on March 7, 2010.
