Dennis Hopper Has Prostate Cancer
Dennis Hopper has prostate cancer, according to his manager, and is canceling all forthcoming appearances to focus on treatment. The Easy Rider star canceled an exhibition of his artwork and photography at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Melbourne, which will open on Thursday, November 12. Hopper, 73, is being treated through a “special program” at the University of Southern California, and his manager would not discuss his prognosis except to say “we’re hoping for the best.” Sadly it sure doesn’t sound like they caught this early. News of the long time actor’s diagnosis comes a month after he was admitted to hospital suffering flu-like symptoms and abdominal pain. He was released the following day after being treated for dehydration. Currently, Hopper plays crazed music producer Ben Cendars on the second season of Crash, a TV version of the 2004 film.
